Look at her directly and you become stone.
The gaze is local: stone spreads from wherever the pointer is, because that is what the myth says — what she looks at hardens. Position decides where, dwell decides how far. Look away and it thaws in place, slower than it turned. An interaction that punishes attention rather than rewarding it.
