Pygmalion
The sculptor’s statue, which warmed into a living woman under his gaze.
One component for the whole life of an image. Grain gathers while the bytes arrive — bound to the actual decode, never a timer — then the picture rests cold and hard until it is looked at, and warms into itself. It resolves to the photograph’s true colour: a reveal that lands on a tint has damaged the work it was presenting.

Budget
- Use for every content image. This is the default image treatment, not an accent.
- Never set `eager` on more than one image per viewport — it defeats the staging.
- It must resolve to the photograph’s true colour. Do not add a tint at the end.
Restraint is the aesthetic, and it does not survive being applied generously. These limits are the specification, not advice.
